Newmarket Race Day
Date: Saturday 18th June 2022
Location: The July Course at Newmarket
Dressing up in your fanciest clothes, soaking up the sun with a drink in-hand, relishing in some exquisite food and putting in a bet on your favourite racehorse. If this sounds like your ideal day then get together a group of your colleagues and sign up to Tom’s Trust’s Race Day. As well as a day of thrilling fun and laughter you’ll be able to put your bid in at the charity’s auction held by Cheffin’s Auctioneers which could see you win some fabulous prizes, including an overnight break at The Dorchester’s Coworth Park, a tour of the stables belonging to Olympic rider and Burghley Horse Trials winner, Caroline Powell, and a once-in-a-lifetime dressage or show-jumping lesson with her, tickets for The Jockey Club Summer Nights, or a Godolphin Darley Stallion Tour with Godolphin Racing Box experience.
While the live auction is exclusive to our Race Day guests only, our digital auction can be bid on by others outside the venue. The support you provide will change lives.
The day will take place at the July Racecourse in Newmarket at the elegant Moorestyle Pavilion and our guests will be served a welcomed drink, gourmet lunch and afternoon tea. From as little as £150 per person, you and your colleagues will have a day to remember, as well as raising money to fund a Tom’s Trust psychologist who will help the children we support living with brain tumours and their families. We are also looking for businesses to sponsor our event to help us get to our £40,000 goal.
The money raised will help children like Riley Akers, 11, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in March 2018 at the age of seven.
Riley’s mum, Gill, said: “Without the support of our Tom’s Trust psychologist, we would have been in a very different situation. Angela, our psychologist, has helped us through Riley’s anxiety. She is incredible, she is like a lifeline to us, she makes us smile when we are scared and she encourages us to carry on when we really don’t feel like it. She is wonderful, and we are so grateful for everything she does.’’
