We are excited to announce that Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers has chosen Tom’s Trust to be the official charity partner of its forthcoming 10th anniversary sale, on the 19th and 20th June. The auction will mark Sworders’ 10th year in its award-winning auction rooms in Stansted Mountfitchet, and will profile fine furniture, British and European paintings, silver, clocks and works of art.
Sworders is aiming to raise £1,860 for Tom’s Trust, to help us support children and families affected by brain tumours. It costs around £620 to pay for one child’s clinical psychology support for a year, so the Sworders target aims to provide care for three children and their families, which will be an incredible achievement for everyone involved.
The majority of fundraising will take place at Sworders’ VIP preview event at which Sworders’ guests will be invited to make text donations to Tom’s Trust, while previewing the items that will be on sale during the main anniversary auction. Lars Tharp, one of the longest running experts on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, will be attending the preview to carry out a series of gallery tours and our founder, Deborah Whiteley, will be speaking at the VIP preview event to share experiences and raise awareness. Alongside the crowdfunding efforts Sworders will be making, the auctioneers will also kindly be donating £3 from the sale of every Anniversary Sale catalogue to Tom’s Trust.
We are delighted to be involved in such an exciting year for Sworders, as the auctioneers celebrate a decade in the award-winning, purpose-built auction rooms. Sworders has used the forthcoming event as a chance to give back to the local community, and with the support of its buyers, sellers, visitors and partners, Sworders hopes to make a significant contribution to Tom’s Trust.
