After co-founding Tom’s Trust, and being CEO until 2021, Debs has decided that it’s the right time to leave the day to day working of Tom’s Trust in the capable hands of Rebecca Wood as CEO and her brilliant team. Debs will take a short break before potentially joining on the Board of Trustees.
Debs and Andrew founded Tom’s Trust in 2011 following the death of their nine-year-old son Tom from a brain tumour. Their determination that other families should be able to access the specialist psychological support their family had needed has shaped the charity ever since.
Debs led the charity until 2021 when she handed over the reins to Rebecca Wood, our CEO.
Debs said: “Tom’s Trust will always be a hugely important part of my life and I’m incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together. I know the charity is in very good hands with Rebecca, the team and there are some incredibly exciting times ahead.”
Tom’s Trust continues to be led by Chief Executive Rebecca Wood. We have also recently welcomed Charlotte Bester as our new Philanthropy Lead as we work towards our ambitious plans to reach many more children and families.
For now, we simply want to say an enormous thank you to Debs for everything she has given to Tom’s Trust so far and wish her a very happy break.
