Several Cambridge businesses will be running this years TTP Cambridge Half Marathon for Tom’s Trust, including the award-winning Cambs Cuisine, high quality slow-fashion retailer Tom’s Trunks, strategic platform building company Bango, independent Cambridge estate agent Redmayne Arnold and Harris, and the popular Cambridge Juice Company. They will all have teams running on Sunday 9th March.

Joining them will be a team from Rathbones, a leading provider of individual wealth management, asset management and related services. The half marathon will be the launch of their official charity of the year partnership between the company and Tom’s Trust this year. Rathbones will enter a team of five runners and aim to collectively fundraise £1,750 for Tom’s Trust.

Chris Holton, Rathbones Assistant Investment Manager, says: “We have recently partnered with Tom’s Trust as one of our chosen charities, and are delighted to be running in support of the amazing work they do. The support they provide to children both in the local area and further afield is incredible, and we are excited to fundraise for such a worthy cause.”

Alongside Chris, the Rathbones Cambridge Team includes: Mark Winchester (Office Head), Harry Lygoe and Lee Pearce (Investment Managers) and Sam Garrad (Assistant Investment Manager). The team is currently regularly training together in preparation for the big day.

“Training is going surprisingly well for such an injury prone team!” Chris commented. “We have started a run club at work and go out together once or twice a week for a run which has been really nice. Time is counting down a little too quickly however which is scary!”

Also running as part of Team Tom will be the leading, independent multidisciplinary construction and property consultancy, Stace, who have also been a co-sponsor on the team running vests.

The company is aiming to raise £350 per person, with a £1,400 target as a team. The team is – Jessa Lee (Senior Quantity Surveyor), Julian Cox (Project Director), Martin Ford (Divisional Director) and Matthew Gill (Associate Quantity Surveyor). All four runners are currently on separate training journeys, but they attempt to partake on training runs together wherever possible.

This isn’t the first time the company have supported the charity.

Reflecting on why Stace have decided to run for Tom’s Trust this year, Julian Cox said: “For me personally, I have a strong connection with what Tom’s Trust does, which I wasn’t aware of until now. My seven-year-old sister died from a brain tumour in 1977. The work that Tom’s Trust does in supporting children and their families who are suffering from brain tumours is vital. I’m committed to doing what I can to help raise support and awareness for the charity.”

Good luck to all running the Cambridge Half Marathon and special thanks to all of our Team Tom!
