Strawberry fair

From humble beginnings, Strawberry Fair has grown to be the most popular free, entirely volunteer run, one day music & arts event in Cambridge (and probably across Europe!), attracting over 30,000 visitors throughout the day. On the first Saturday of June and now passed our 40th year, residents and visitors have gathered together on Midsummer Common to celebrate their vibrant and creative city.
The Fair is run entirely by volunteers (affectionately known as Strawberry Fairies) who give their energy, imagination and vision to present to their friends and neighbours in Cambridge a great free day out.
Very kindly, Stawberry Fair has chosen Tom’s Trust as one of their charities this year, and we’re going to be there on the day collecting donations and spreading the word about our mission.
We will be manning the Victoria Bridge gate from 11am – 11pm.
We need volunteers!
This is sure to be a great event, and we need 11 enthusiastic volunteers to help us on the gates at Strawberry Fair 2024.

Important information for volunteers:
- Volunteers should arrive 10 mins early to give time to go to the HQ Crew tent to sign in and collect items
Upon arrival, volunteers need to go to the HQ Crew tent where they must do the following:
- Sign in and collect a high viz vest, one collection bucket per person, lunch or dinner vouchers per person (dependent upon their volunteering times)
- The first two volunteers will be assigned a card reader for Tom’s Trust which will be at the gate at all times along with a radio to call for support, such as if it’s really busy and a collection bucket is too full to carry over to the HQ tent and needs to be collected from the gate and replaced.
- After each person finishes their shift, they need to go to the HQ tent and drop off the collection buckets.
- Upon arrival, new volunteers need to sign in and collect new collection buckets to replace the ones that have just been taken into HQ to be collected.
- There will be up to two security guards on the gate with volunteers at all times.
