Alex, aged 9, from Cambridge, kicked off his summer holidays by raising money for Tom’s Trust, after he heard about our work. He cycled a brilliant 10 miles – doing loops around his village, and then went on to run a cake and toy sale in his front garden. His community and school got behind him and he raised a superb £1,250 for us.
Debs Mitchell, Co-Founder of Tom’s Trust, said: “A huge thanks and well done to Alex. Engaging children in fundraising is such a positive lesson in empathy, money, and connecting children with a bigger purpose – and could be a good way to keep them busy this summer!”
Alex’s mum, Kelly adds: “We are so proud of Alex for taking this challenge on. His teacher has also commented how his charity fundraising has developed his confidence in school and inspired other children to think about how they could get involved with a charity. I would definitely encourage other parents to support their children with any fundraising activities they may wish to pursue.”
Well done Alex!
