Brighter Futures: Our five-year strategy 2026-2031
With our Brighter Futures campaign, we will be able to offer at least a minimum level of expert psychological support to every child and family, through our in-hospital service or online resource hub, aiding recovery and quality of life or helping families facing the devastation of the death of a child. Currently 23% of children have access to our in-hospital services. We will increase our clinical teams by 50% from four to six in-hospital services. We will develop camps, activity days and peer support groups that help families rebuild confidence, connection and resilience.
By 2031, every child diagnosed with a brain tumour and their family will have access to a minimum level of specialist psychological support, funded by us, at whatever point they are in their journey and wherever they live in the UK. Tom’s Trust will continue to build a national, sustainable model of psychological care integrated within NHS systems and supported by our online resources. We will work closely with clinicians and commissioners to ensure that psychological recovery and cognitive rehabilitation is recognised as an essential part of treatment, not an optional extra.
We recognise that we need to support the whole family for them to have the brightest future after a brain tumour.
