Runs and challenges
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, combining a physical challenge with raising funds for Tom’s Trust will give you double the sense of achievement. Whether you’ve been personally touched by childhood brain tumours, or inspired by the incredible children we support, we welcome you to join us and take part in a run or challenge for Tom’s Trust.
From mountain climbing to running marathons, taking part in a charity challenge is a great way to meet new people, improve your health and gain motivation and confidence.
Top tips for physical challenges
- Stick to a training plan
We’ve got a few suggestions here but there are plenty of other plans out there. Try to be realistic about timeframes and feel free to adapt as necessary!

- Take care of yourself
Getting the right rest and nutrition is as important as the training itself. Also make sure you’ve got the kit you need (e.g. good running shoes!)
Look at the pages below to find some useful tips on nutrition:
- Make it sociable
Why not team up with a group of friends or join one of our Facebook groups for our runs and challenges? Just ask for more information by contacting email@example.com
- Spread the word
Letting people know about every stage of your training will help raise more funds and keep you motivated. For example, you might post regular updates on your JustGiving page, or send a press release to your local media outlet. You can take a look at our Fundraising Advice and Resources page to give you the tools you need to make your fundraising a success.
