Host a Tea for Tom
Join Tom’s Trust in hosting your very own Tea for Tom to raise vital funds for children with brain tumours and their families across the UK. We’re asking our supporters to host a tea party for friends and family. Whether you would prefer a fun and relaxed get together, a Mad Hatter’s tea party or a more formal occasion similar to tea at the Ritz, we’d love for you to join in and make the event your own. You can host at home, in a garden or park, at an office or place of work, at school during lunch, or for bigger Tea for Tom parties, why not hire out a venue?
Guests then pay a donation to enjoy the event, however much they can spare. This money will go directly to Tom’s Trust, supporting children with brain tumours and their families.

When is Tea for Tom?
We launched Tea for Tom on Sunday 27th June 2021, to mark ten years since Tom’s Trust was founded by Debs and Andrew after they lost their nine-year-old son Tom to a brain tumour. Tea for Toms launched on what would have been Tom’s 20th birthday.
We’re now encouraging you to host your very own Tea for Tom at any time of year as part of our ongoing fundraising activity.
I’m in! What do I need to do?
- Download your free party pack here. The pack contains recipes, activities, decorations, and fundraising tips to help you host your event.
- Spread the word: Choose a date and time for your event and a location. Then invite your friends, family, or colleagues letting them know about your Tea for Tom party.
- Enjoy the party: Sit back, relax, and watch the donations roll in as you enjoy the fruits of your labour (or should we say cakes of your labour?!). You can either collect cash donations from your event and transfer the equivalent funds directly via our website, or you can set up your own fundraising page ahead of the day and guests can donate via this page. You could create a JustGiving page which you can connect directly to our JustGiving Tea for Tom campaign page. You’ll just need to send the page link to your guests and ask them to donate.
Top tips
Have cash ready
If you’re attending a Tea for Tom and haven’t donated in advance, don’t forget to take some money so that you can support for Tom’s Trust.
Post to social media
Make sure to follow Tom’s Trust on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to follow our updates. We’d be thrilled if you posted photographs of your Tea for Tom party to social media, using the hashtag #teafortom and tagging us. We want to see lots of lovely selfies! You can share your fundraising page through social media too.
Cake cake cake
Make sure to have enough food, drinks, and cake for everyone. You can find recipes in our Tea for Tom party pack.
Where your money goes
Your generous donations will go towards funding Tom’s Trust’s expert psychological support for children with brain tumours and their families in the UK, including at the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle, and through a multi-disciplinary service at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Our psychologists provide mental health support to the whole family when a child is treated for a brain tumour. We provide support from diagnosis all the way through to rehabilitation, recovery or bereavement. We couldn’t do what we do without our generous fundraisers, and we’d like to thank you for your support in signing up for Tea for Tom.
