Yesterday was the Cambridge Half Marathon, and our 70 Team Tom runners have so raised over £30,000 for Tom’s Trust. Every mile ran, and every pound raised, will make a difference to families facing a child’s brain tumour diagnosis.
The Cambridge Half Marathon event on Sunday 9 March saw 15,000 runners take part in the 13.1-mile route through the historic city that Tom’s Trust was founded in. Tom’s Trust had several corporate partner teams taking part in the race, including Rathbones, Cambscuisine, Tom’s Trunks, Redmayne Arnold and Harris, Cambridge Juice Company, as well as Stace and Bango – our vest sponsors.
Jess Wilde, Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager at Tom’s Trust, said: “We are blown away by all our runners at the Cambridge Half Marathon this year. Not only did they all do brilliantly on the day, and fundraised along the way, but they’ve also raised so much awareness for childhood brain tumours. We can’t thank them enough. The money will make a huge difference to the lives of so many families who are coping with a devastating brain tumour diagnosis.”
A big thank you to all our wonderful runners and also to Troi Baxter and Kerry Bullen who very kindly offered a series of free training sessions to Team Tom in the lead up to the big day.
